WEIJA DAM SPILLAGE- Due to the heavy downpour in the catchment area of the Densu River basin, Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has begun minimal spillage of excess water from the dam as at Sunday 11th October, 2020. Management of GWCL therefore wishes to inform members of the general public as well as institutions and organizations who have properties downstream of the dam to take note and act accordingly since information from the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) indicates that there will be more rains. Meanwhile the GWCL, NADMO and other sector agencies are making arrangement for the provision of water and other services to the people displaced by the flood. Affected communities include; Tetegu, Oblogo, Pambros Salt, Lower McCarthy Hill, Lower Weija, Bojo Beach, Ada Kopey and surrounding communities.

Ing. Jacob Z. Yendor is the Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited in charge of Operations. Prior to his appointment in 2017, Ing. Yendor was the Chief Manager of Accra East Region. He was appointed Regional Chief Manager for Accra East Region in October 2015.  Until his appointment to this position, he served as the Acting Regional Chief Manager of the same Region upon his transfer from Tema Region in September 2013.

He was employed in September 1990 and worked as an Assistant Distribution Engineer in Accra, Distribution Engineer in Kumasi, Distribution Engineer in Takorad and then Distribution Engineer in Accra West. He was appointed as the Regional Engineer in Accra West Region in 2005. Ing. Jacob Yendor was transferred to Tema Region as a Regional Engineer in 2007.  Acted as Regional Chief Manager before his transfer to Accra East Region in September 2013.

He is a member of Ghana Institution of Engineers (GHiE).  He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Science And Technology, Kumasi, Post Graduate Certificate, Advance Technical Training in “Loss Reduction in Water Supply Networks, Germany.
