WEIJA DAM SPILLAGE- Due to the heavy downpour in the catchment area of the Densu River basin, Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has begun minimal spillage of excess water from the dam as at Sunday 11th October, 2020. Management of GWCL therefore wishes to inform members of the general public as well as institutions and organizations who have properties downstream of the dam to take note and act accordingly since information from the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) indicates that there will be more rains. Meanwhile the GWCL, NADMO and other sector agencies are making arrangement for the provision of water and other services to the people displaced by the flood. Affected communities include; Tetegu, Oblogo, Pambros Salt, Lower McCarthy Hill, Lower Weija, Bojo Beach, Ada Kopey and surrounding communities.

Mr. Michael Ayensu

Board Member

Mr. Michael Ayesu is currently a Director at the Ministry of Finance and in charge of the External Resources Mobilization – Multilateral Division. The responsibilities of the Division entails coordinating the activities of Ghana’s Multilateral Development Partners, through sourcing and utilization of financial and technical resources for the development of the country. He had joined the Ministry of Finance since 1988.

Mr. Ayesu graduated from the University of Cape Coast in 1985 with B.A. Honors Degree in Social Sciences (Economics and Sociology) and a Diploma in Education. He also obtained a Master of Philosophy Degree in Monetary Economics from the University of Glasgow, UK in 1993.

He was on secondment as Senior Advisor to Ghana’s Executive Director at the World Bank Group in Washington DC from 2008 to 2013. He has been a Board Member of the National Investment Bank since 2014.

Mr. Michael Ayesu is married with two children.
