Kpong Intake Rehabilitation Project

The project, undertaken by Siemens NV/SA, entailed the replacement of existing intake pumps, laying of intake pipelines and replacement of high lift pumps at Kpong Old Works. As part of the project, a 3.3 million gallon per day treatment plant was built to increase water supply to the rural areas of Accra-Tema Metropolis.  Specifically, communities benefitting from the project which was completed in October 2014, include Dodowa, Ningo, Prampram and Akuapem Ridge Area.  FINEXPO and KBC Bank of Belgium were the funding agencies of the project which cost 16.568 million euros.
