Nsawam Water Supply Rehabilitation and Expansion Project

The project, estimated to cost €11.7 million, entailed the construction of intake, low lift pumping station, a new 1.7 million treatment plant and replacement of transmission mains from Treatment plant to reservoir.

Other works involved extension of distribution network to eleven communities along pipeline route, improvement of distribution network, construction of water reservoirs, supply and installation of laboratory equipment and construction of new high lift pumping station.  Zonal meters and data loggers were also provided.

Under the project, the capacity of impounding reservoir was also restored and existing 792,000 gallons treatment plant was rehabilitated. Other works included distribution network extension improvement to the communities along pipeline route, construction of transmission mains to Tantra Hills and construction of sludge treatment facility. The project was undertaken through joint venture between S. ACHS and ASPAC International and completed in October 2014.
