Dr. Remy Bonpira Puoru

Mr Remy Bonpira Puoru joined Ghana Water Company (GWCL) in November 2015 as Deputy Managing Director (Finance and Administration). In this capacity, he oversees the General Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Commercial and Business Development functions of the Company. Prior to that, he worked in two different roles with USAID: as West Africa Regional Supervisory Financial Analyst – Local Solutions/Capacity Development (2012 to 2015) and West Africa Regional Chief Accountant (2009 to 2012).

Mr. Puoru served as Deputy Director, Finance and Administration from 2008-2009 with the National Vocational Training Institute in Ghana. From 2003 to 2007, he served in two positions with EngenderHealth: as Internal Auditor in 2007 and West Africa Regional Finance Coordinator from 2003-2006. Mr. Puoru also worked in the past for the British American Tobacco Company as Financial Accounting Manager for West and Central Africa.

Mr Puoru holds an Executive Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana and a BSc Administration (Accounting Option). He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK.
