SENIOR MANAGEMENT - MRS. FAUSTINA BOACHIE

+ PIL_9980

Chief Manager

(Low Income Consumer Support Department)

Faustina Boachie is the Chief Manager responsible for fostering an inclusive water service delivery in which special attention is paid to serving the Low Income Urban Communities (LIUCs). She possesses the strong social skills needed to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Thanks to her dedication and support from external donors she succeeded to improve water services in dozens of urban communities and thereby ensuring indirect and direct access to water to well over a million Ghanaians.

Faustina’s career with the GWCL started as a Commercial Officer in 1999. Six years later she became Obuasi’s first female district manager. In 2009 she moved to Accra to manage Ghana Water’s key accounts as a Customer Care Manager. During this time, she was given additional responsibilities as a Pro-Poor Coordinator. Having experienced what not having direct access to piped water means, and what consequences it has, she became a strong advocate for pro-poor services.

A decade later Faustina is credited with transforming a one-person desk unit into a fully-fledged department that has contributed immensely to infrastructure development in several marginalized and disadvantage urban communities in Ghana. In doing so she is immensely grateful to the trust she received from GWCL’s Board of Directors, Top Management and Chief Managers as well as the support from a wide range of donors. These include the World Bank, WaterWorX, UNICEF, UN Habitat, WSUP and Water for Life.

Faustina holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cape Coast and an MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. She is an active member of the African Water Association as well as the International Water Association. She is also a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Economists, Ghana.
