Ing. Edward Kwabena Agyekum

Chief Manager

(Project Planning and Development)

Ing. Agyekum is the Chief Manager for the Project Planning and Development department. He joined the company in 1999 as an Assistant Engineer at Accra Tema Metropolitan Area (ATMA).

In 2004, he was transferred to the Brong Ahafo Region as the Regional Project Engineer. Due to his exceptional performance and dedication to his job, he was reassigned in February 2006 to the Northern Region, where he oversaw the Tamale Water Expansion and Optimization Project in the same position.

After AVRL divided the company into four areas, Ing. Agyekum was appointed to oversee operations in Area four (4), which encompassed the Brong Ahafo Region and the three (3) Northern Regions. He continued to take on various roles within the company, including overseeing the Wa Water Expansion Project and the Regional Distribution Operations in Wa in May 2015, and serving as the Regional Distribution Manager in the Central Region in November 2018.

In June 2019, he became the Operations Manager responsible for the Production and Distribution in the Region until September of the same year, when he was transferred to the Accra West Region as the Regional Distribution Manager. In November 2020, he was again transferred to the Accra East Region in the same capacity before returning to the Accra West Region in May 2021. In July 2022, he was appointed as the Regional Chief Manager for Ashanti South Region.

Ing. Edward Agyekum is an accomplished engineer with a BSc in Civil Engineering from Havana University – Cuba, an MSc in Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation from KNUST, a Commonwealth Executive Master’s in Public Administration from KNUST, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Water Supply and Environmental Sanitation from the Atlantic International University in Miami, Florida, USA. His passion for engineering is evident in his work and his many achievements within the company.
